Title: Woven Chair
Year: 2015
Material: Copper wire, handwoven on loom

This chair is woven entirely from copper using traditional pleating techniques to generate form directly on the loom. The structure holds the softness and fluidity associated with cloth, yet possesses an unexpected rigidity, creating a tension between material expectation and physical experience.

Developed through the question of whether a loom might be understood as a three-dimensional printer, the work explores the possibility of producing fully realised objects within a single process. Form, structure, and function emerge simultaneously through weaving, allowing the finished piece to exist as both textile and furniture, suspended between flexibility and permanence.
