This project was created in collaboration with Royal College of Art product design student Parsha Gerayesh. Together, Parsha and Jacqueline designed a chair using the minimal possible number of components and materials — one that adapts to the user’s body, rather than forcing the body to adapt to the chair.

When not in use, the piece acts as a wall hanging; once sat in, it transforms into a fully functional chair. To achieve this responsive structure, Jacqueline wove the textile with a combination of elastic and polyester warps, allowing the material to stretch selectively in certain areas while remaining stable in others.
